Platinum Guard is designed to clean up your system, removing any unnecessary files from your system.
It will scan and clean recent documents, browser histories, the recycle bin, cookies and more from general Windows operations and browsers. It also looks for other common applications like WinRAR, Windows Media Player and Google earth. After the scan you are presented with a list of files to clean or not.
Platinum Guard seems to work efficiently, and its System Junk Statistics, telling you how much room you've cleared, is nice. The presented list of files to be cleaned is a little annoying, as there is no explanation of whether they are necessary or not! This is not unlike other cleaning applications though - you delete these junk files more or less on trust.
The interface on Platinum Guard is easy to use and very clear, so won't be intimidating to anybody - it's just a shame there isn't more explanation of what it's deleting.
